Jigsaw's S/S10 collection

I am thoroughly enjoying the new collection at jigsaw! It seems a lot fresher, original and dare-I-say-it YOUNGER. I felt that although the winter collection was extremely good however a lot of the the styles didn't stand out of their own, however with this season, every single item is unigue and original. Our store has also been blessed with being allowed to sell what is called the 'stitches range which only 5 stores sell. They are extremely limited and are generally made from 100% cashmere and silk and give our store that extra individuality to the high street which seems to be over-copying trend after trend. Some of the trends included the revival of the Riviera trend, Bosten stripes and Safara skirts.

-I really like this striped club jacket, reminds me of Jack wills and had an amazing red silk commenwealth flag print inside.

The dress is inspired by 50s print and I like the use of the yellow within the print for a fresh summer look.

The Girl with Glass Feet

My best friend and I were not able to see each other over the Christmas holidays, when we did finally meet up when stepped into waterstones, found two books that were the same price and traded them when we bought them.

Initially I was all out to get Tolstoy's 'Anna Karenina' for some serious reading but this little gem caught my eye....


Here is the description of the novel, 'Befallen Ida Maclaird - she is slowly turning into glass, from the feet up. She returns to St Hauda's Land, where she believes the glass first took hold, in search of a cure. Midas Crook is a young loner, who has lived on the islands his entire life. When he meets Ida, something about her sad, defiant spirit pierces his emotional defenses. As Midas helps Ida come to terms with her affliction, she gradually unpicks the knots of his heart, and they begin to fall in love...What they need most is time - and time is slipping away fast'.

I have yet to finish this, but I love it more and more and I believe it is a must read. It is tragic, beautiful and at moments funny. I recommend you read this.

Actions and consequences

Last night, my house at university completely broke down, resulting in me staying over a friends house. I can honestly say I have never been so shocked in my life at what happened. I couldn't bring myself to come home and didn't chat to them till 10 o'clock in the evening.

I will not get into the reason for me leaving the house, as it is not the reason for this blog.

What I am trying to say is that you should always think about what you say. It is alright saying you say what you think but you have no idea how it can hurt the other person. You can control it and you need to understand how it will effect everything.

We are all talking together now, but it's going to take a while for everything to be ok again. It never had to be like this either if people learn to control themselves.

The final piece in the puzzle!

When I came back to uni the 1st thing in my mind was to find a job, every day I went out to the town to find a job, I swear I gave out 30 C.Vs into stores! And I finally have got a job! YAY! It is a store called 'Jigsaw' which is a high end fashion store and it was the MOST DIFFICULT job interview I have ever done! I was asked to find an outfit for a 30 year old woman who has just given birth and wants to return to work, however she also wants to wear it on a night out. I also had to choose an outfit that she could wear in the day time. I was petrified at the task but all I could say was 'great, was size is she'....?! What?! I was sent onto the shop floor, breathing grew difficult....but luckily it seems that everything worked out well!

Lisa Mitchell- the 'honeycracked' voice

I have always been an advocate of female singer/songwriters and Lisa Mitchell is no exception. I encountered her music video for her new song 'Coin Laundry' and I have been hooked on her ever since. Her 'candy-coated folk-pop' just makes me want to jump about and be completely creative. You have probably heard one of her songs 'neopolitan dreams' on the 'Surf'' advert. Just play her songs on a summer/autumn crispy day and you will be lost in your imagination. The lyrics are so clever as well, they may be 'sugar-coated' but she brings hidden depth to her songs that makes you follow her journey. If you like Emiliana Torrini's voice, then you'll like her.

Hello everyone!

HELLO! Sorry long time no write, but i have returned to University and haven't got internet in my house yet!

MY UNI!!!!!!

This year has been going brilliantly! I live in a kooky student house when their is random pieces of sailor decorations but apart from that its all good!

I promise I will write more when I get the internet, but for now a break in between my English and Media course is all I can do. Currently I am reading Strindbergs 'Miss Julie'.....joy.

The Vintage Bicycle

I can picture myself now, cycling on the cobbled streets of Chichester on my way to uni, my books in the basket with my tin lunch box (On the list next week), with one of my many cardigans on. Pure.Brilliance.
